"But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." Matthew 6:33
If you’re reading this devotional, you have crossed you over to 2026.
Hallelujah! As we start this journey into 2026, we must Seek God for Wisdom and clarity in order to navigate successfully during this year. What is this scripture saying?
To “seek” first his kingdom and his righteousness” means to turn to God first for help, to fill your thoughts with his desires, to take his character for your pattern, and to serve and obey him in everything.
What is really important to you?
People, objects, goals and other desires all compete for priority. Any of these can quickly become most important to you if you don’t actively choose to give God first place in every area of our life. Seeking God also means directing your whole self towards Him,
expecting Him be found as you diligently look for Him through His revealed ways and in all circumstance of life... Doing so will lead to a deeper knowledge and relationship with the Lord.
In Pursuing God, we must ask for wisdom in James 1:5 NIV the Bible says "if any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives
generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you."
James is talking not only about knowledge but about the ability to make wise decisions in difficult circumstances. Whenever we need wisdom, we can pray to God, and He will generously supply what we need. As believers in The Most High God, we don’t grope around in the dark, hoping to stumble upon answers. We can ask for God’s wisdom to guide our choices.
There are Two Types of Wisdom:
1. Practical- meaning the wisdom from God relates to life even during the most trying times.
2. Divine- means God’s wisdom goes beyond common sense. Common sense does not lead us to choose joy in the middle of trails.
Next, we must pursue God for Spiritual Clarity --- Spiritual Clarity is the ability to discern the truth from falsehood. It is the ability to be spiritually and emotionally mature in your spiritual journey while taking purposeful action, rather than being easily swayed by your circumstances. This enables us to recognize and discern God's will for our lives.
God desires for us to have clarity and He provides it through His Word. 1 Corinthians 14:33 reminds us that, God is not a God of confusion, but of peace. He desires truth, understanding and clarity for all His children.
So, if you desire to do a 21 Day Fast to start off 2026, consider asking God for wisdom and clarity. Stay Prayful!
Heavenly Father, I come before you seeking guidance, wisdom, and clarity. I am unsure of the path ahead, and I need your wisdom to
make the right decisions. Your word declares that if we lack wisdom, we should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault..and it will be given us to us. I need wisdom and clarity in this season...I trust in your plan for my life and know that you are always with me.
In Jesus Name, Amen!
